STARTING A HUDDLE THE RIGHT WAY
One of the most important aspects of FCA is properly STARTING YOUR HUDDLE.
Each huddle leader is responsible for making sure every step has been completed. This will ensure the huddle is certified providing the best ministry to the students, while following along FCA guidelines:
STEP 1: Fill out MLA
The Ministry Leader Application (MLA), must be completed by adult leaders and volunteers who work with youth under the age of 18. You will find the MLA application by following this LINK TO REGISTER By completing the MLA application, you are only expressing a desire to serve with FCA. It does not mean that you are accepted as a Ministry Leader, because you have completed an application. The local FCA staff and the National FCA office will screen your application. A completed MLA also gives the huddle liability insurance, paid for by FCA.
If you have already completed an MLA it is still necessary to register your Huddle. (see step 7 below)
STEP 2: Review and Follow HUDDLE Playbook
The Huddle Playbook is a comprehensive guide on how to prepare for and lead a huddle successfully.
Visit Campus 101
Select High School or Middle School and then step through the three categories of video lessons. The one place where every athlete, coach and volunteer can learn what FCA Campus Ministry is and how to serve in schools effectively. It includes three components that work together to train, equip and grow.
STEP 3: Review How To Start A Huddle Document
FCA has a best practice that is very helpful when starting a huddle. This checklist was written and designed to help you get off to the best start.
STEP 4: FCA RESOURCES
Go here to find the best, most comprehensive resources to help you in your huddle available through FCA. (devotions, videos, ice breakers, etc.)
Also check out the Strong Curriculum We encourage you to use this curriculum as it had a high impact in our summer camps.
STEP 5: FCA Vision…
We are excited to have you join our mission of Igniting Students and Coaches with the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Our goal is to take a Quantum Leap Impact to reach 20,000 students and 1,000 coaches across 400 plus campuses in Central Ohio on a weekly basis; to put Bibles in the hands of over 2,000 students per year. Serve 2,000 plus athletes in summer camps and equip coaches and students dealing with today’s life issues
Step 6: Student Leader Training and Registration
Student Leader Training –
Through input of Huddle Leaders FCA Central Ohio has develop a two-session training outline to develop student leaders at your huddle. You can access the training Here
Student Leader Application – Required
We now have a formalized Student Leader Application. This is used by huddle leaders to qualify student leaders and assign leadership positions to students in each huddle
Register Your Huddle
FINAL STEP: Notify FCA STAFF
